Academic - Assistant Professor-Psychology

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Central Methodist University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Psychology to join our faculty.  This full-time, benefits-eligible, tenure-track position carries a 9-month contract beginning in August 2025.  Review of applications begins March 24.

 PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach assigned load in the field of psychology (Developmental, Abnormal, and Health Psychology, as well as other topics in the field)
  • Assess student learning and course effectiveness
  • Collaborate with colleagues to conduct yearly programmatic assessment
  • Advise social science majors
  • Participate in faculty and division meetings
  • Participate on faculty committees
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

A master’s degree in psychology is required, doctorate is preferred.

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate will work approximately 40 hours per week on the Fayette campus.

 OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Communication and collaboration with colleagues and students
  • Integration of iPads into the classroom environment
  • Effective use of Canvas learning management system
  • Functional skills in Microsoft Office Suite and OneDrive
