GENERAL SUMMARY:
Central Methodist University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Psychology to join our faculty. This full-time, benefits-eligible, tenure-track position carries a 9-month contract beginning in August 2025. Review of applications begins March 24.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach assigned load in the field of psychology (Developmental, Abnormal, and Health Psychology, as well as other topics in the field)
- Assess student learning and course effectiveness
- Collaborate with colleagues to conduct yearly programmatic assessment
- Advise social science majors
- Participate in faculty and division meetings
- Participate on faculty committees
- Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
A master’s degree in psychology is required, doctorate is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate will work approximately 40 hours per week on the Fayette campus.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Communication and collaboration with colleagues and students
- Integration of iPads into the classroom environment
- Effective use of Canvas learning management system
- Functional skills in Microsoft Office Suite and OneDrive
